Some would say that I’ve gotten pretty good at compartmentalizing things. But I would argue that I didn’t get good enough, fast enough. When you are dealing with an enormous jigsaw puzzle of Self, and you can’t ever seem to make everything fit together well, the next best thing to do is rapidly surmise which area you’ve made the most progress, quarantine off the rest of the puzzle completely, and radically focus on building the most onto the most. Otherwise, you are always tearing one section down and adding to another in hopes that you might be able to finally make sense of all these disparate, paradoxical things. Maybe some others are good at doing that–compromising and approaching their various pieces of Self in such moderation that they become a bland, yet pleasing harmonious whole.
